Grounds of Appeal: The Homes of First-Class Cricket by Aylwin Sampson.

Foreward by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Pub Robert Hale 1981, ISBN 0709191405.
HB, dust-jacket, 206 pages many b/w drawings. 9 1/2 x 6 1/2". Condition Very Good (+), personal copy.

A beautiful, unique book recording many of the idiosyncratic grounds now disappearing from the English (and Welsh) county scene, such as Dartford and Bournemouth. Sampson seeks out unusual corners for his sketches, such as inside the mighty old scoreboard at Edgbaston, and the heavy roller at Portsmouth; the classic views are also here, such as the long room and pavillion at Lords.

A lovely item, email if you have any questions
